The Histon Hawks host their annual festival on Sunday 7th July 2024. We are welcoming visiting teams from March Cricket Club, Downham Stow Cricket Club and Chippenham Cricket Club in what will be a fantastic afternoon of cricket.

Bird of Prey Display

Kicking off the festivities at 11:30 will be an exhilarating aerial display courtesy of our charity partner, the Raptor Foundation.

Cricket!

Play will begin at 12pm with 6 matches on the day, running across both pitches at the Histon Recreation Ground.

Charity Tuck Shop

Throughout the day, the Hawks will be running a charity tuck shop, raising money for the Raptor Foundation and all the great work they do to rescue and rehabilitate birds of prey in the region. There will be plenty of homemade goodies & tasty snacks available for purchase, so please bring loose change along as it will be cash only – with ALL proceeds going to the Raptor Foundation.

Matchday Charity Incentives

The Histon Hawks girls have been raising money through their performances on the pitch this season and we’d like to raise as much as we can to thank our kindred spirits at the Raptor Foundation for what will be a great display, so we are going to be ramping up the fundraising on the pitch and include our visitors in the fun.

For all players participating at the Histon Hawks Festival, the following matchday performances will see you raise money to help rescue and rehabilitate many birds of prey in the area:

  • Bowled Wicket – £2
  • Run Out – £3
  • Catch – £5
  • Maiden Over – £5
  • Hawk Catch (diving, jumping, one handed catch) – £20
  • Four Runs – £4
  • Six Runs – £50
  • Spirit of Cricket Award – £3 (in recognition of the player on each side who has best embodied the spirit of cricket, voted for by opposition coach/umpire in each game

The scorers will be kept very busy!

We hope to raise loads of money for the Raptor Foundation and we thank our club sponsor, TAG Media, for supporting the teams. Please make sure you arrive at the Histon Recreation Ground before 11:30 to make the most of the day!
